QSA Technology joins Making ConneQtions

QSA Technology is a partner in Making ConneQtions, a new Interreg Deutschland-Nederland project that aims to advance quantum-secure communication across the Dutch-German border. Led by Oost NL, the consortium brings together universities and technology companies from both countries. Together, they will build and test next-generation photonic and quantum technologies on a 70 km fibre link between Enschede and Münster.

The link will serve as a real-world testbed. It will let partners take technologies that have so far been demonstrated mainly in the lab and evaluate them under realistic network conditions. For QSA Technology, the project is an opportunity to bring our photonic PUF-based authentication into a live optical network / test our hardware authentication alongside other quantum-secure technologies.

As more critical communication moves over optical networks, and as quantum computing puts today’s cryptography under pressure, securing those networks becomes increasingly urgent. Making ConneQtions tackles this through collaboration across regions, disciplines and industries, connecting academic research with companies that are turning it into practical products.

The consortium includes the University of Twente, Universität Münster, QSA Technology, Sabratha Photonics, PiCard Systems, Xen Quantum, Microwave Photonics (MWP) GmbH and Pixel Photonics, with Oost NL as lead partner. The project is co-funded by the Interreg Deutschland-Nederland programme and the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel.
